The Teaching Council has begun a consultation process towards the development of a national framework for CPD. The framework will provide a long-awaited opportunity to recognise and acknowledge teachers’ engagement in formal and informal professional learning.

The first phase of the consultation process has commenced, and is focused exclusively on teachers . We are keen to ensure that as many teachers as possible are aware that the process is happening so that they may take advantage of this opportunity to participate. We appreciate that teachers are busier than ever, but we would like to ensure that the CPD framework which ultimately emerges will be firmly rooted in the daily reality of teachers’ learning.
