Four Students from Rossa College fought off stiff competition from twenty schools across Cork city and county to win the 10th annual Schools Robot Competition. The competition is sponsored by Cork based firm Logitech and run in conjunction with the CEIA (Cork Electronics Industry Association), UCC, CIT and the Tyndall Institute.
Schools are given the challenge to construct a robot from electronic lego materials. Once constructed the robot must be programmed to enable it negotiate a series of challenges and courses. Students were rewarded for their efforts as each received a state of the art Logitech speaker compatible with Iphone and Ipods and IPads. Overall the school won over €1200 worth of prizes on the night. The College also received a perpetual trophy along with the 10th anniversary lego trophy.
